When Olympic National Park was established back in 1938, the Act establishing the park noted the purpose as
"to preserve…….the finest sample of primeval forests of Sitka spruce, western hemlock, Douglas fir and western red-cedar in the entire United States"
The National Park Service notes that
"the forests are a vibrant, ever-changing palette of greens, textures, species and ages".
Those primeval forests still exist today and they are just one feature that we'll be photographing at this fabulous destination. Interestingly, Olympic NP contains 5 different kinds of forests: Coastal, Temperate Rain Forest, Lowland, Montane, and Subalpine, and those provide a wealth of subject matter for us as we seek to capture the beauty of the park in our images.
Added to the forests and rivers, are Olympic National Park's rugged coastline, over 70 miles long, with intermittent beaches, rocky outcroppings, tidal pools, sea stacks and more.
You'll seek new ways to express your creative vision on this Olympic National Park Photography Workshop, as we explore different landscapes, seascapes, and more.
Diversity, variety, and lots of photographic opportunities are integral parts of this exciting Nature photography Workshop. Olympic National Park showcases the magnificence of the Pacific Coast, and is a must Location for photographers seeking to broaden their portfolio, or to have abundant opportunities to hone your photographic skills.
As in past photo Workshops here, we'll probably take a morning and photograph salmon leaping upstream on their arduous journey to their spawning grounds.
